As well as being famous throughout France on account of its football team, Guingamp has retained much of its rich architectural heritage. Here, history and abundant nature live together in perfect harmony: the banks of the River Trieux have been improved so that they are a permanent invitation to stroll at the foot of the old town. The town is fortunate in being located on the main Paris – Brest route to give easy access to its attractive shops and many events – the pardon of Notre Dame de Bon-Secours, the Bugale Breizh children's festival, Jeud’his of Guingamp and culminating with the great Festival de la Saint-Loup. It is within twenty miles of the Trégor coastal resorts (known as Armor) and it is close to the central inland areas of Brittany (known as Argoat), making it an ideal base for a holiday discovering western Côtes d'Armor. |
|||
|
Guingamp itself covers a relatively small area and has spilled over into the neighbouring communes so that you : imperceptibly find yourself in Plouisy, Grâces, Ploumagoar, Pabu or Saint Agathon, where you can discover the charm of being "in the countryside in the town". |

have left a legacy of over fifty washing places, known as lavoirs,
that have now been restored. Our boatmen will be glad to take you
on a river trip so that you can discover the Trégor's Little
Venice. Lovers of old buildings will be sure to make the short excursion

Breton speaking areas, the Châtelaudren region stretches over
a wide area of woods and unspoilt countryside that links the coastal
area (known as Armor – the sea) with the inland area (known
as Argoat – the wood). The 13 villages in the Châtelaudren
area are crossed by many footpaths giving access to a wealth of interesting
sites. |
